As the final week of the BEARPAW’s Holiday Campaign “Spread the Love, Share the Comfort” comes to a close, we would like to thank everyone who participated by sending us stories of friends, family and loved ones.

Hearing their stories of compassion, kindness and love was truly inspiring.

The following two families (the last two) represent everything our campaign is about, and we hope they ignite a passion in “paying it forward” as they did in us.  Read More | Comments

BEARPAW’s Spread the Love, Share the Comfort Winners week of 16 December 2011

Our Spread the Love, Share the Comfort Holiday 2011 Campaign has been truly amazing, and all the nominations have touched us during this holiday season.  The more we get to know our winners’ families and their stories, the more inspired we are to “pay it forward” with the same kindness of spirit embodied by them.  Our Week 3 winners are no exception, and we know their stories will inspire you throughout this holiday season and into the New Year.

    The Donahue Family

Heather Donahue is the single mother of 3 beautiful children: Jason, 15, Sean, 12, and Allie, 8.  In 2009, she moved back to live with her mom, Cathy Villasana, to make a better life for her family.  After losing her job in July, she barely makes ends meet through child support and unemployment.  2011 has been trying for more reasons than money for the Donahue family as Heather recently discovered that a child predator had targeted her oldest son in September.  Then in October, her middle child, Sean, had to be hospitalized for 5 weeks. BEARPAW’s Spread the Love, Share the Comfort Winners for the Week of December 9, 2011

BEARPAW is proud to announce the winning families for Week 2 of our Spread the Love, Share the Comfort Holiday 2011 Campaign.   We know their stories will inspire you this holiday season as well.

    The Zwolak Family

Joy Zwolak is mother to 11 beautiful children: Maddie, Maryse, Mia, Makayla, Muhammed, Heaven, Maleana, Monet, Mycole, Maggie, and Junior.  After leaving an abusive relationship, she got a job as a waitress at IHOP.  Late one night, Rebecca Lassiter, a blogger who writes for One More Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, walked into Joy’s IHOP with her fiancé.  They noticed that Joy, at 8 months pregnant, worked harder than anyone else, and made everyone smile with her kindness and generous spirit.  This one interaction with Joy formed a bond between her and Rebecca ever since. BEARPAW’s Spread the Love, Share the Comfort Winners for the week of December 2, 2011

BEARPAW is proud to announce the first two winning families in our Spread the Love, Share the Comfort Holiday 2011 Campaign:

    The Lucas Family

When I spoke with Emilse Gonzalez, the Director of Program Development at the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood about the Lucas family, you could hear over the phone how much this family is adored and appreciated.  “We have so many amazing families here.  The Lucas family stands out to us because as they continue to overcome such great odds, they also give back and inspire so many of us here,” Emilse told me. Share The Love

We meet them everyday.  They are our dear friends.  They are our neighbors.  They teach our children.  They keep our streets, and even our country, safe.  Those heroes of the human spirit – the essence of love, charity, and kindness who even in hard times can be counted on to encourage those around them.  They live without celebrity or notoriety, even as they champion the best features of our nature.

This holiday season, BEARPAW invites you to join us as we honor those who inspire us with the spirit of the holidays year round.  During our Spread the Love, Share the Comfort Campaign, we want you to nominate those families who may have fallen on hard times, but continue to uplift those around them.

BEARPAW is sharing some comfort with 8 special families this holiday season.  Included in the gift package are 2 pairs of BEARPAW footwear for each member of the family, a $250 Target gift card, BEARPAW t-shirts, and apparel provided by Aventura.  There will be something for every member of the family to stay warm and live life comfortably throughout the holiday season.

The holidays are a time to be thankful and joyful for all the wonderful things that have happened to us this year. This is also a time to give back! In that spirit, BEARPAW plans to help “Keep Tahoe Blue,” having recently partnered with the League to Save Lake Tahoe, a nonprofit advocacy group committed to the preservation of the lake.  Read More | Comments

ULTRA and Miami Winter Music Conference by Sabrina Park

The Fourth of July is upon us and it has me looking for a new kit to wear. A new bathing suit or pair of swim trunks is always nice, but it’s what you accessorize with that makes your Fourth of July outfit one that everyone remembers. Lucky for 4th of July partygoers, BEARPAW has plenty of shoes to choose from for this patriotic holiday — because let’s face it, you’ll probably be outdoor barbecueing, walking around with friends and family, soaking up the sun (and beverages) – maybe even enjoy some bar-hopping hopefully somewhere near the beach. 110110_d7_0110 On a chilly weekend in February, BEARPAW trekked out to beautiful Lake Tahoe, CA for the brand’s annual winter photo shoot. Four lovely models – including pro skier Caroline Gleich – wore their winter best while showing off the boots that make up BEARPAW’s four new lines: Savvy, Up Country, All Weather, and Boutique. Along for the adventure were BEARPAW VP of Sales & Marketing Randy McKinley, Sportie LA co-owner Isack Fadlon, and his marketing team from SLAM (Sportie LA Media). Read More | Comments

When we first posted this story a little while back, it was cute…a nice article with a nice interview.

Looking through the footage, we realized there was more going on behind the scenes than we realized!

We decided to recut the video and share the whole story!

resize2 Seattle’s Central Saloon is not only a local landmark, but a cultural one. Jimi Hendrix played here, as did Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains before those bands broke out, and represented the epitome of Grunge. First opened in 1892, three years after the “Great Fire of Seattle,” the Saloon has been open ever since (the only establishment of its kind never to close). Even during Prohibition, the site boasted a speakeasy under the sidewalk. Oh, and according to those who’ve seen it, that speakeasy – now the keg room – is haunted. Even the ghosts don’t take time off – talk about a place serving spirits…
